My Safelist is up and running. I have 5 members so far. I am getting it going in the directory submitters. It is much easier to get members to a safelist than a customer email list that you advertise for. Probably because it is free. Right now if you go to:
http://butterflywebworks.com/globalinternetfortunes
and sign up you get free pro membership. That allows you to email people on the list every 3 days instead of once a week. I am allowing the first 50, or so, join free. as the list grows I will raise the price. I will see how it goes from here. I am also going to start an affiliate program with it. I don't know exactly how it is going to work but I will let you know.

My Very Own Safe List
I bought my own safe list. It will cost me $5.50 per month to operate. I am dealing with some technical difficulties right now but it does work for subscribers. Visit:
http://butterflywebworks.com/globalinternetfortunes
to check it out.
The problem I am having is logging in to my admin area so that I can change any of the sign up costs. Right now, with no one on the list, there is a charge for pro and platinum members. I would like to change that but I can't yet. I am thinking about letting the first 25-50 people get free pro memberships and maybe sell the platinum membership for a little less, just til it is reasonable that I charge for membership. I am just glad to have it for now.

Using Safelists
I just started using safe lists in massive amounts today. I even bought my own. I haven't set it up yet but I am going to be doing that very soon. I don't know how well this is going to go but since submitting my ads for My Viral Website I have received one new member in my downline. With my safe list I will have tools that will help me grow my membership very quickly and I will have direct access to all of its members. I will also have a cheap place to put my ads and also a place where I can sell ad space to whoever I want. I can also charge whatever I want. I didn't know where I was going to go with this blog but I have begun in the direction of safe lists. I will be working on this project for awhile, with much success I presume! Either later on tonight or some time tomorrow I will link my blog to my very own Safe List.
List Building
All over the Internet you'll see marketers using lead capture pages to get your email address so that they can send you emails later. They are usually trying to get you back to their site to make a purchase, they sell your name to another marketer, or they market products they are affiliated with. There is also a market for this type of information. People pay others to learn how to build a list of customers. Here you will find some tips and techniques I have read about and as I try them out I will report my successes and my improvements.
I have been most successful marketing an affiliate website that gives away a free website like the one my visitors see in exchange for their name and email address. It is a site that reviews affiliate products and gives the owner credit if the product is bought from their affiliate link. My site, InternetFortunePackage.com, has been up for a few months now and I have 15 subscribers to that list. I received the subscribers through an advertisement in an e-zine. It cost me around $30. I say around because it has been awhile and I don't remember the exact amount. That means it cost me about $2 per lead. That isn't good or bad to me because I don't have anything to compare it to. The downside is that I don't really know what to do with the list now that I have it.
Enough about that though. This is a blog that is about list building. I will give tips that I've read about and tried and hopefully get feedback from my visitors letting me know about their successes and tips on improving my methods. I am also going to put up an RSS feed to this blog so others may use what I write here. Come back often for more tips, or subscribe to my blog to get updates as I post them.
